Pharmacy Needs Assessment

Help us improve your local pharmacy service

There are 87 pharmacies in the Heart of Birmingham which provide an increasingly wide range of services.

We are asking our stakeholders and patients who use NHS services to tell us what they think about the service pharmacists currently provide.

By law, all Primary Care Trusts in England must publish a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) by 1 February 2011. The PNA is designed to answer three basic questions:

1. Is there a need for new pharmacies within the PCT?

2. Do existing pharmacies provide an adequate level of enhanced service?

3. Is there a need for the PCT to commission more services from the community pharmacies?

The first version of the PNA has been created ready for patients to read and comment on. You can view the document by clicking here

To take part in the consultation and to tell us your opinion of the PNA click here to download the PNA questionnaire.
