Trust Board & Professional Executive Committee (PEC)

The Trust Board

The role of the Trust Board is to ensure that the Trust meets its duty to improve the health of our community; secure the provision of high quality services and to integrate health and social care locally. The Board does this by agreeing the Trust's objectives and plans for delivery of care and by monitoring performance. It also ensures the business of the Trust complies with national legislation, that the Trust has in place good financial controls and, above all, provides high quality care which offers value for money.

Membership of the Board is made up of the Chairman and Non-Executive Directors, known as Lay members, who represent the interests of the local community, Trust Executive Directors and representatives from the Professional Executive Committee (PEC).

Trust Board papers for 2011 and papers from previous Trust Boards are available here.

The Professional Executive Committee (PEC) works closely with the Trust Board. It gives clinical direction to the Trust and deals with service developments. It looks at ways of improving the quality and delivery of healthcare to our community, so that patients can access primary and secondary care services as quickly as possible.

Membership of PEC consists of local General Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacists, Dentists, Allied Health Professionals, Social Care and Health and representatives from the Trust's Executive Team.
